Fiber News & Updates
Lake Region Electric Cooperative (LREC), the parent cooperative of Lake Region Technology & Communications (LRTC), was proud to host the Electric Cooperatives of Green Country's annual legislative dinner. The event brought together electric cooperative leaders, state legislators and congressional staff for an evening of conversation, fellowship and appreciation. Employees, CEOs and board members representing Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative, East Central Electric Cooperative, Indian Electric Cooperative, Kiamichi Electric Cooperative, Ozarks Electric Cooperative, Verdigris Valley Electric Cooperative and Lake Region Electric Cooperative attended the gathering. The evening provided an opportunity for cooperative leaders to connect with elected officials, discuss the needs of rural Oklahoma communities and strengthen relationships that support the people they serve. Lake Region was honored to welcome Senator Tom Woods and Representatives Kevin Norwood, Jim Olsen, Mark Lepak, Bob Ed Culver and Scott Fetgatter. Nathan Dethloff, Field Representative for Congressman Frank Lucas, and Tamara Bryan, Field Representative for Congressman Josh Brecheen, also attended.
As a locally owned cooperative, Lake Region understands the importance of maintaining strong relationships with elected leaders. These connections help ensure that the needs of rural communities remain part of important conversations surrounding infrastructure, reliable electricity, broadband connectivity and economic development. Through LRTC, Lake Region continues to expand access to reliable, high-speed fiber internet throughout its service area. Staying connected with community leaders and policymakers helps support efforts to bridge the digital divide and bring essential services to rural Oklahoma. The gathering also highlighted one of the seven cooperative principles, Cooperation Among Cooperatives. While each cooperative serves its own members and communities, working together allows cooperatives to share ideas, strengthen partnerships and support initiatives that benefit rural Oklahoma. Lake Region Electric Cooperative and Lake Region Technology & Communications are proud to be part of a network of cooperatives committed to serving their communities and improving quality of life across the region.
Thank you to our fellow cooperatives, elected officials and congressional staff for taking the time to attend, listen and connect. We appreciate the opportunity to host this year's gathering and look forward to continuing these important relationships.
